Our Approach
We are a Center for Health Care Innovation. That means we work with you to create, evaluate, and implement your best ideas. We use a tested, multi-disciplinary approach to identify, fast-track, and scale innovation that comes from the front lines of care. Getting it right the first time is rare, so we start with small, quick tests before system-wide adoption. “Failure” with quick and meaningful learning at low-cost is not failure. Our agility allows us to make the most of learning early rather than later and at greater expense.

Our Organization
The Center for Health Care Innovation at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health exists as both a department at LG Health and also an extension of the Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation. We are designed to bring the innovative practices and technology from Penn Medicine’s world-class researchers and clinicians to the service of our nationally-recognized regional health system. We also ensure that Penn Medicine takes advantage of the insights generated by our community-focused health system based in Lancaster County. An Innovation Advisory Committee of executive leaders at LG Health helps ensure that the Center for Health Care Innovation at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health keeps its focus on projects that have measurable impact in and for our community.

As the first branch of Penn Medicine’s Center for Health Care Innovation, we have access to a suite of platforms and proven approaches to innovation. We are partners of the Aspire Ventures Precision Medicine Fund, with whom we target strategic investments in technology companies. LG Health is also a founding member of the Smart Health Innovation Lab (iLab), a collaboration with Aspire, Clio Health, and Capital BlueCross to make pathways between startups and enterprise-level integrations with payors and providers.
